What is IMPACT? IMPACT is the political action committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas. IMPACT raises and distributes funds to help elect pro- business candidates and legislators, protecting the interests of the independent insurance agent.
IMPACT is a lifetime commitment to protect the livelihood of independent agents. IMPACT has been the driving force behind IIAT’s success in protecting agents’ commissions, defending against unnecessary industry regulation, and guarding the competitive marketplace. Strengthening the independent agent voice through power in numbers make an IMPACT.
How am I a Part of IMPACT? The IMPACT budget is administered by the IIAT board of directors and
governmental affairs department, but your input is important to the
grassroots effort in the legislative process. IIAT members may be
asked to help distribute IMPACT contributions to legislators with
whom they have a relationship. This community contact is critical in
making agent issues stand out on a personal level. |

Is IMPACT Successful?
Yes, IMPACT is clearly successful. IMPACT contributions help IIAT defeat bad legislation and questionable regulation of the insurance industry. IMPACT has been a major force in tort reform and on broker disclosure issues, among others.
Are Contributors Recognized
Agencies are recognized by attaining the following contribution levels:
- Leadership Club—$250 contributed from each agency principal and $100 contributed from each agency producer.
- Lone Star Club—$200 contributed from each agency principal and $50 contributed from each agency producer.
- Capitol Club—$100 contributed from each agency principal and $25 contributed from each agency producer.
- Recognitions are made at IIAT’s Annual Conference, as well as posted on IIAT’s website and materials.
